Junior running back Charlie McMartin did all of the scoring as the Capital Eagles produced two third-quarter touchdowns en route to a 14-0 season-opening high school football victory over Boise on Friday night.
McMartin scored on touchdown runs of 15 and 41 yards in a game that was marred by turnovers. Each team turned the ball over three times. Boise converted two fake punts in the first half, but was unable to convert either into any points.
TIMBERLINE 48, KUNA 27
Freshman quarterback Tanner Mangum threw for 335 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Wolves past Kuna. Madison Mangum, Tyler Knight and Preston Minter each scored two touchdowns for Timberline. Brandon Delao scored two touchdowns - including one on a 100-yard kickoff return - for Kuna.
MOUNTAIN VIEW 28, POST FALLS 6
Alexander Miles led all rushers with 45 yards and a touchdown, while Zane Hibbard ran for a touchdown and threw for another to lead the Mavericks to a nonconference victory.
FRUITLAND 21, EMMETT 0
Senior Nick Varriale ran for 126 yards and two touchdowns as 3A Fruitland shut out 4A Emmett. Caleb Crim added 129 rushing yards and Derek Keeton caught a 73-yard touchdown pass for the Grizzlies. Casey Griffith rushed for 56 yards to lead Emmett.
HORSESHOE BEND 46, MEADOWS VALLEY 0
Horseshoe Bend's Tim Wilson won his head coaching debut in convincing fashion as the Mustangs blanked Meadows Valley in a game that was called after two quarters. Senior running back Lukus Beckman scored three touchdowns for Horseshoe Bend, which enforced the mercy rule at halftime.
WEISER 20, BAKER CITY (ORE.) 6
Weiser jumped out to a 20-0 lead and held on to defeat Baker City in Baker City, Ore. Weiser quarterback Gavin Eisenbarth connected with receiver Trent Coleman for a pair of touchdown throws.

Dalton Koplin ran for 151 yards and two touchdowns as Parma shut out Nyssa. Rance Portner, Terrell Timmons and Lance Johnson also scored touchdowns for the Panthers, who outgained Nyssa 363-82.
NAMPA CHRISTIAN 40, HOMEDALE 0
Nampa Christian quarterback David Unruh hooked up with receiver Michael Siegersma for three TDs and the visiting Trojans outgained Homedale by more than 250 yards.
SALMON RIVER 36, TRI-VALLEY 0
Sophomore tailback Jacob Manley ran for three touchdowns and junior tailback Dustin Rinker rushed for 273 yards on 21 carries in Salmon River's victory. Senior Cody Carlson added three interceptions for Salmon River.
