The Skyview and Vallivue football teams will meet for the first time since 2005 on Friday night.

The nonconference game kicks off at 7 p.m. at Skyview in Nampa.

Both teams have been practicing since Aug. 15, and are eager to hit the field against an opponent.

"We are ready to see some results on the scoreboard, whether it's positive or negative," Skyview coach David Young said.

The Hawks are trying to buck a 10-game losing streak dating back to 2006, while the Falcons are coming off a 2007 season in which they advanced to the 5A state playoffs.

Skyview takes to the field with untested junior quarterback Sam Cook, who will be making his first varsity start, but returns six starters on offense and seven on defense.

Vallivue will be led by quarterback J.J. Hyde, who completed 56-of-122 passes for 920 yards and 17 touchdowns last year. The Falcons return four starters on offense and five on defense.
