Coach: Paul Peterson, fourth season, 19-13

Last season: 4-4 overall, 2-2 5A SIC Division 1

Postseason: Did not qualify for playoffs.

OFFENSE

New offensive coordinator Scott Criner has plenty of weapons to work with in his first season with the Mustangs. Criner, who was Bishop Kelly's offensive coordinator last season after serving three seasons in the same role at Sacramento State, will have seven starters back from an offense that averaged 340 yards and 23 points per game last season.

DEFENSE

All three of Eagle's linebackers - A.J. Gorley, Jake Williams and Jordan Schoen - return along with linemen Bryce Benz and Chris Whipps. Jacob Johnston returns for his third season as a starter in the Mustangs' backfield. Eagle will try to improve on defense after allowing more points (27.9) per game than it scored (23.1) last season.
