Boise-based filmmaker Heather Rae and actor Misty Upham will introduce the Idaho premiere of Rae's 2008 Sundance Grand Jury Prize winning film, "Frozen River." Upham plays Lila, a young Mohawk single mother who, along with Ray Eddy (Melissa Leo), is drawn into the world of border smuggling across the frozen water of the St. Lawrence River. The film has been well-reviewed and Leo is rumored to be in contention for an Academy Award. "Frozen River" opens at The Flicks for its general run Friday, Oct. 10.
