Comprised of “anti-pope” frontman Papa Emeritus and anonymous musicians called Nameless Ghouls, Swedish band Ghost arguably is as good as it gets for a Halloween-season concert. The group sounds a bit like Blue Oyster Cult or melodic Black Sabbath — not as skull-crushingly metal-driven as one might guess. Rolling Stone recently declared that Ghost “has done more to bring blasphemous, religion-skewering devil rock to the mainstream masses than perhaps any act since Marilyn Manson.” Somebody had better call Tipper Gore and the PMRC.
