Big-time comedian Dave Chappelle has not performed in Boise in a few years.
It was 2001, to be exact. At the 999-capacity Big Easy, now called Knitting Factory.
Nearly a decade and a half later, Chappelle will step up to the 2,000-capacity Morrison Center for a concert Saturday, Sept. 19.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday for $57.50 plus fees at Ticketmaster.com.
The Morrison Center almost feels like a small venue for Chappelle. Best known for his near-legendary “Chappelle’s Show” on Comedy Central, Chappelle, 41, is still a major draw. He’ll perform at Red Rocks Amphitheatre two days before his Morrison Center gig. On the other hand, he’s playing Colorado Springs, Colo., on Sept. 16.
I guess it’s all relative.
