1. FEEL GOOD ABOUT MUSIC
The second annual Baldapalooza is a fundraiser for Camp Rainbow Gold. It’s hard to think of a more noble cause. But don’t attend just because of charity. Go because of the wide variety of music, especially terrific country singer Ashley Monroe, who has a personal connection to the event. (I know her video above isn't exactly "family-friendly," but it sure is fun.)
2. BUY SOME ART
Or don’t. Either way, you’ll have a relaxing time browsing the 60th annual Art in the Park all weekend at Julia Davis Park.
Never miss a local story.
5. BE INDIE
Nashville trio Colony House includes two sons of Christian singer Steven Curtis Chapman, but his boys are taking a different musical path. The alt-rockers will perform a free show at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, at the Record Exchange (free beer!) and a ticketed full show later that night at Neurolux.
