1. SEE LIVE MUSIC
There's lots of variety this weekend. Italian electro house outfit (and buddies of Paul McCartney) The Bloody Beetroots will blast tonight at the Revolution Center. Swedish melodeath outfit Avatar — that silly photo clear at the top is them — will rock tonight at the Knitting Factory. (If they miss the show, will they play a "makeup" date? Hahahahahahaha ... sorry.) ... On Saturday, rapper Pigeon John will headline at Neurolux, and Pink Floyd tribute act Pigs on the Wing will get comfortably numb at the Knitting Factory.
Never miss a local story.
2. GRAB A BITE
Restaurant critics can be a tough crowd. But the Idaho Statesman’s James Patrick Kelly found a lot to like about On The Fly, a new deli concept in the 8th & Main building. Mmmm, house-made pork bologna
3. DO SHAKESPEARE
Boise’s own Idaho Shakespeare Festival kicks off its season tonight with “Deathtrap,” and there are still tickets for all three shows this weekend.
4. SEE A MOVIE
Prefer your Westerns with fart jokes? Then you might like ”A Million Ways to Die in the West,” even if plenty of critics didn’t. Granted, ”Maleficent” might not be that much better, but I’m in. There’s always promise with Angelina Jolie.
5. BUY LOCAL ART
All of the 60 artists exhibiting at Sunday’s 24th annual Art & Roses live within 125 miles of Boise. That’s cool. You’ll also find food and live music at Julia Davis Park.
