You can watch the artists of Sector Seventeen — aka Solomon Hawk Sahlein and Collin Pfeifer — do their stuff as they complete a mural on the construction wall of the newly dubbed City Center Walkway. That’s the corridor from Main Street to The Grove that is currently bordered by wood panels of the City Center Plaza construction site.
Gardner Company, the entity that is building the Center, commissioned Sector Seventeen for the mural that will show a rendition of Downtown Boise as it will look when the City Center Plaza is completed, combined with abstract elements created by the artists. Hawk and Collin installed the completed cityscape panels yesterday. Today (Feb. 10) you can watch them create the abstract elements from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
In the past eight years, Sector Seventeen have put their mark on the Treasure Valley, both during their days as graffiti artists adorning railroad cars, back alleys and skateboards, and now as working artists coming into their own through private commissions and public art projects such as this.
The duo recently completed the “Garden of Creativity” across from the Cinder Winery, 107 E. 44th St., Garden City.
Never miss a local story.
