This year’s adult selection “Fatal Light” by Richard Currey (Santa Fe Writer's Project) commemorates the 50th anniversary of America’s ground war in Vietnam. The book offers Currey’s insights and recounts his personal experience as a medical corpsman during the Vietnam War.
Currey will speak in Boise at 7 p.m., March 18 at the Basque Center, 611 W. Grove St.
The 2015 young adult selection is “Eli the Good” by Silas House (Candlewick). During the tumultuous fall out of the Vietnam War during in the summer of 1976, Eli lives with his distant mother; his traumatized Vietnam-vet father; his wild sister; his former war-protester aunt; and his tough yet troubled best friend, Edie, the only person with whom he can be himself.
