This year the guerrilla theater group will produce a “puppet cabaret” with six short horror stories — all told by some pretty creepy puppets.
The stories are all by local playwrights Heidi Kraay, Dakotah Brown, Erin Chancer, Chad Ethan Shohet, Jaime Nebeker, Hirmuta Dyn, Jon E. Waters and Declan Kempe.
The puppet thing started three years ago when owners of the former Red Room venue asked the company to do a Halloween show. They came up with the idea of puppets and it was successful enough to become an annual event.
Never miss a local story.
“We leaned how to make them from the internet and by making lost of mistakes that ended up being great,” Nebeker say.
Shohet, Nebeker and her sister Jessica make the fabric and papier mache puppets. This year Nebeker made her first marionette.
The show is 8 p.m. Oct. 24-25, 29-Nov. 1 at Woodland Empire Ale Craft, 1114 W. Front St., Boise. Tickets are $5 by clicking here and at the door if available. 21 and older only.
