Film director Michael Hoffman will premiere his latest film, “The Best of Me” as a benefit for the Agency for New Americans and Boise Contemporary Theater at 7 p.m. Oct. 12 at the Egyptian Theatre, 700 W. Main St., Boise, before its Oct. 17 national release.
He also will bring two of the film’s stars, Michelle Monaghan and Liana Liberato, for the event. They will help introduce the film then appear at a post-screening reception at Berryhill & Co., 121 N. 9th St., Boise.
Hoffman’s films include the Academy Award-nominated “The Last Station” and “Restoration,” and romantic comedies “One Fine Day” and “Soapdish.” In the past, he has brought stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Sally Fields and Calista Flockhart for film premieres.
“The Best of Me” is based on the Nicholas Sparks novel about two former sweethearts who reunite and discover that what originally drove them apart is still a threat. It also stars James Marsden, Luke Bracey, Gerald McRaney and Jon Tenney.
