Check it out! Two Idaho actors will be on NBC TV shows this week:
• Actor and percussionist Matt Ramsey grew up in Buhl. A grad from the College of Idaho, he’s worked with Idaho Shakespeare Festival and Boise Contemporary theater before heading to New York. He found the perfect gig for an actor / drummer: He’s a member ofBlue Man Group
. He’s worked for the company both as a performer and trainer for more than 15 years. Now he is the Associate Director, Live Shows for Blue Man Productions and is based in New York. He will be part of a Blue Man Group appearance on “Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris,” which is filmed live in New York City. He’s been the studio all day and isn’t able to say what he’s actually doing, so tune in at 9 p.m. Oct. 6 on NBC and check it out.

• Actor Ira Amyx grew up in the Treasure Valley, the grandson of a former Boise mayor, the late Jay Amyx. He got into acting through his Vallivue High drama teacher Fool Squad co-founder Tom Willmorth, went onto earn a theater degree from Boise State University and a graduate degree at Indiana University Bloomington. He now lives in Chicago where his career is beginning to flourish both on and off stage. You can see him with a guest staring credit on “Chicago P.D.
,” one of a growing number of TV shows filmed there. Amyx also is in Boise next week for a friend’s wedding and plans to watch the show here.
Amyx also is nominated, along with and Merje Veski, for a Jeff Award for scenic design for “The White Road,” at the Irish Theatre of Chicago. In 2014 he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor.
