JOB CHANGES
Genesis World Mission announces the addition of Barbara Mahr as Volunteer Physicians Network administrator. Mahr will manage a volunteer network of more than 215 specialist physicians and hospitals for three local clinics to access for patient care. She will develop systems and educational and administrative tools to improve the process.
Mahr has more than 20 years of experience in project management, marketing and training development. She was founder/owner of Behind the Scenes Marketing Services and was marketing communications and training manager with Boyd Corp. and area administrator for Simplot Food Group.
Genesis World Mission is a nondenominational Christian organization whose goal is to meet the physical, medical and spiritual needs of the less fortunate, both locally and globally. Direct POS, formerly RVP Business Systems, has hired Doug Durst as an installer for restaurant point-of-sale systems.
Hurst was formerly with Volt Technical Resources providing help desk support for EDS/Hewlett Packard.
RECOGNITION
The Boise Sonic Drive-In at 877 Overland Drive earned the gold medal in Las Vegas at the 2009 Dr Pepper Sonic Games, a crew-retention and incentive program. The Garden City Sonic Drive-In at 6701 N. Glenwood St. brought home the silver medal.
The Boise and Garden City restaurants competed against 10 drive-ins from around the nation at the national finals Sept. 20-21 in Las Vegas.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Idaho has added a board member and elected officers for the 2009-10 term. Sue Richardson will join the board for a one-year term. Andy Fujimoto has been elected president; Mike Clawson, vice president; Larry Koomler, secretary; and Jeff Hancock, treasurer.
Other returning board members are Joe Borton, past president; and Sheriff Gary Raney, John Grizzaffi, Kevin McDonald, Katrina Goodrich, Stacy Pearson, Mike Reynoldson, Gerry Mattison and Patrick Wiese.
GOOD DEEDS
The Idaho Foodbank recently received a $500 grant from the Wood River Women's Charitable Foundation Members Fund in the Idaho Community Foundation to provide general support for Blaine County.
