JOB CHANGES

Chuck Faylor has joined Valley View Senior Living Community, managing all operations. Faylor is a Boise native and has served in the senior care industry as an executive director and more recently as a regional director in Idaho, Oregon and Washington. Valley View Senior Living Community has served seniors of the Treasure Valley for more than 23 years. Its newly remodeled site is at 1130 N. Allumbaugh in Boise.

RECOGNITION

One of Idaho National Laboratory's top managers, Phillip J. Finck, Ph.D., has been elected to the International Nuclear Energy Academy.

INEA is a group of prominent, experienced scientists, engineers and related nuclear energy specialists who conduct studies and discussions and develop recommendations for the international nuclear community on various generic nuclear energy issues. Membership is limited to 100 individuals from around the world.

Finck is associate laboratory director for Nuclear Science & Technology at INL and is an internationally recognized expert in advanced reactor and fuel cycle programs.

He completed his undergraduate degree from cole Des Mines in France and earned a doctorate in nuclear engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1982. He also holds an MBA from the University of Chicago.

In October 2006, Finck joined INL as the associate laboratory director for Nuclear Science & Technology, the key position in the nation's nuclear energy laboratory.. Today, he leads the Fuel Cycle Research and Development Technical Integration Office for DOE.

Finck is a frequent keynote speaker on nuclear energy in North America, Europe and Asia.

The Idaho Centennial Chapter of the Association of Government Accountants has elected new officers for the 2009-2010 program year: Laura Gilmore, Idaho State Police, president; Tanya Hellewell, Department of Lands, president-elect; Rosemary McClenahan, Office on Aging, secretary; and Carol Bearce, State Controller's Office, treasurer.

Chapter awards were recently conferred on two chapter members. The 2008-2009 Chapter Financial Manager of the Year was awarded to Connie Smith, chief financial officer for the Idaho Department of Administration.

The 2008-2009 Chapter Service Award was awarded to Carolyn Miller, State Controller's Office.

GOOD DEEDS

Members of the Idaho Centennial Chapter of the Association of Government Accountants have donated $1,565 in school supplies to Lapwai Elementary School.

The mission of the association is to promote governmental accounting through education of its members and future members.
