JOB CHANGES

Syringa Bank has hired Margaret Sato as vice president and branch lending manager. She is based at the One Capital Center location, 999 Main St., Boise. Sato brings 26 years of banking experience, with a focus in commercial lending and construction and development financing.

Sato earned a bachelor's degree in marketing from the University of Wyoming and has completed multiple banking courses. She has been a board member and funds distribution co-chairwoman of the United Way of Treasure Valley, a board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters, a Leadership Boise graduate, a TWIN recipient, a Building Contractors Association member, and board member and treasurer of Networking Professionals.

MERGERS

Johnna Johnson & Co., an Idaho business training and consulting firm, has merged with The McClain Cos., a business consulting and brokering agency with complementary products and services.

The McClain Cos., established in 2004 by Troy McClain, helps entrepreneurs develop their business, with investor-ready business plans and access to investors, business branding and marketing strategies, and business coaching and consulting. Johnna Johnson & Co., a 6-year-old company, provides professional training seminars on business and employee development, executive coaching and small business consulting. The merger became effective July 1. The McClain Cos. will operate out of its new office building at 1531 N. Cormorant Place in Boise.

RECOGNITION

Zarian, Midgley and Johnson PLLC announces that four of its attorneys have been recognized in the 2009 Super Lawyers publication. The firm specializes in intellectual property matters and complex business litigation. John Zarian is listed as a Super Lawyer in the area of intellectual property litigation. Peter Midgley and Rex Johnson are honored as Rising Stars in the area of intellectual property. Dana Herberholz is recognized as a Rising Star in the area of intellectual property litigation.

GOOD DEEDS

The Idaho Association for the Education of Young Children has been awarded a grant from the Delta Kappa Gamma Educational Foundation. The grant will fund scholarships to child-care workers for early childhood education degrees.
