Givens Pursley LLP partner Franklin G. Lee was selected by the Idaho Business Review as a 2009 Accomplished Under 40 honoree. Honorees are chosen based on professional accomplishments, leadership, community involvement and long-term goals.
Lee's practice focuses on real estate, construction and entitlement matters. He received his bachelor's degree in architectural studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and his law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Idaho.
The American Lung Association in Idaho announces that Conrad Colby, professor emeritus of respiratory care at Boise State University, has been named to its regional organization's multistate board of directors. The American Lung Association in Idaho is an affiliate of the regional ALA organization and serves individuals in Alaska, Idaho and Washington.
Colby served as chairman of the Leadership Council for the American Lung Association in 2008. An active community volunteer and advocate for lung health in Idaho, Colby participates in statewide asthma activities, serves on the executive committees of the Tobacco Free Idaho Alliance and the Coalition for a Healthy Idaho, and has represented Idaho since 2001 on behalf of the American Association for Respiratory Care, meeting with Idaho's congressional delegation to increase funding for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
CSHQA announces that Chad Harbig has earned his state license to practice architecture. Harbig also passed the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional exam. The LEED Green Building Rating System is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high-performance buildings. Harbig received his master of architecture degree from the University of Idaho. Recent projects include the new Caldwell City Hall catalyst project, multi-use commercial buildings in Boise and Coeur d'Alene, various Idaho Independent Bank branches, and tenant improvements for El Ada Community Action Partnership.
GOOD DEEDS
The Children's Free Dental Clinic "Miles of Smiles" program has received a $3,000 grant from the Southwestern Regional Greatest Need Fund of the Idaho Community Foundation. The donation will be used to build the program's long-term sustainability and to respond to the increasing dental care needs of Boise-area children. A portion of the funds will help purchase materials for restorative dental treatment for kids in the Boise School District.
