Idaho's financial institutions remain strong as the country goes through one of the worst economic times in recent memory, says Gavin Gee, Idaho Department of Finance director.
All banks and thrifts headquartered in Idaho are classified by regulators and "well capitalized," which is the highest possible designation. Credit unions also outperformed their counterparts nationwide, Gee said this week.
"Moreover, Idaho financial institutions are continuing to make good loans to credit-worthy borrowers," he said.
