Retrospect, a store that offers consignment furniture and accessories and that specializes in retro and vintage pieces, has opened in Boise at a renovated and remodeled warehouse at 5115 Gage St.
"It is something I have always wanted to do," said store owner Tara Haley. "I have a passion for finding great pieces at great prices, an eye for style, and this is just the perfect marriage between my business experience and what I consider to be fun.
A grand-opening celebration will be held, Monday, Nov. 21 with free refreshments and live music by Swift and Sassy.
"If you have an item that you would really like to sell or if you just want to make some extra money for the holidays, we will be accepting items up until Nov. 19 for display at the grand opening," Haley said.
"I really feel like the concept of consignment is a win-win situation for everyone involved. It is a responsible thing to do for the environment, and it helps people get what they deserve for an item they want to sell, and on the other end helps people who are looking for something unique and stylish at a great price."
Store hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday. Phone: 283-7336.
Equine therapy facility opens in Emmett
Healing through Horses Inc. is now offering equine-assisted psychotherapy, a collaborative effort between a licensed therapist and horse professional who works with clients and horses to address treatment goals that promote emotional growth and learning, according to owner Ronda Hunsaker. The business opened Nov. 1 at 2121 S. Mill Road in Emmett.
"Equine-assisted psychotherapy is not about riding - the client spends their time firmly planted on the ground," Hunsaker said. "EAP is a powerful and effective therapeutic approach that has an incredible impact on individuals, youth, families, and groups.
"It addresses a variety of mental health and human development needs including behavioral issues, attention deficit disorder, substance abuse, eating disorders, abuse issues, depression, anxiety, relationship problems and communication needs."
Hunsaker has associate degrees in business and small business management and is working on an associate degree in psychology. She is Part I and Part II EAGALA (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association) certified and has worked with horses for more than 20 years.
Specialty services are offered for individuals, groups, couples, families and corporate leaders. Business hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. Appointments are available evenings and weekends. For information, call 921-7794 or visit www.healingthroughhorses.info.
