JOB CHANGES
Mike Gugliotto has been named president and chief executive officer of Pioneer Newspapers Inc., effective Jan. 1. Gugliotto, the chief operating officer, succeeds David Lord, who will become vice chairman of the company. Pioneer is a Seattle-based newspaper chain and the majority owner of publishing businesses whose newspapers include the Idaho Press-Tribune in Nampa and dailies in Pocatello and Rexburg. The company owns weeklies in Emmett, Driggs, Preston and Montpelier. It also has newspapers in Oregon, Washington, Montana and Utah.
CRI Advantage Inc., an information technology consulting and managed services firm, has announced that Ron Stagg has become services director/contract services manager for CRI's Idaho Falls office. Stagg will be responsible for coordination and management of CRI's operations and work at the Idaho National Laboratory and throughout eastern Idaho. He will be directly responsible for resources, contracts, statements of work, reporting requirements, customer relationship and satisfaction, scoping requests and escalations. Prior to this, Stagg was a security consultant for CRI on the cyber security remediation team. He has extensive managerial and organizational experience in a variety of roles, most recently as CRI manager for the patch management team at INL.
Additionally, CRI announced that Liz Kush has returned to CRI to become services manager for HR and operations. Prior to CRI, Kush served as service manager at Workscape, an HR benefits administration and solution company, where she was responsible for supporting enterprise clients. At CRI, Kush will be responsible for tasks involving active recruiting, human resources coordination, and operations support. Previously at CRI, Kush held positions involving human resources and office administration.
SCORE announces C. Norman Beckert as its new district director for Idaho. In this position, Beckert will coordinate with area chapters to manage and elevate the state's small business counseling, workshop and fundraising programs.
Beckert has been with SCORE since 2001. He started with Treasure Valley SCORE as a counselor and moved on to serve as chapter chairman for two terms before being named district director. Beckert has more than 40 years of engineering and supply management experience, and has held a number of offices in local and regional organizations including the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance, the Institute of Supply Management and the University of Washington Pulp and Paper Foundation. He also served as an adjunct professor in the College of Business and Economics at Boise State University.
SCORE's Idaho Region includes chapters in the Treasure Valley and in the Idaho Falls/Pocatello area that reach more than 1,500 entrepreneurs annually through face-to-face and online counseling, and a series of business workshops.
GOOD DEEDS
The wdsglobal team in Boise has donated 3,281 pounds of food to the Idaho Foodbank. The effort was organized by the wdsglobal Boise Community Action Team as part of an ongoing effort to make a positive impact on the community. Wdsglobal is a leader in the wireless industry and employs more than 1,000 people in its call center on North Kimball Place in Boise.
