JOB CHANGES
Former Idaho State University athletic director Howard Gauthier has returned to ISU as an assistant professor and graduate coordinator in the department of sport science and physical education. He will teach at the ISU-Boise campus, 12301 W. Explorer Drive.
Gauthier has more than 25 years of experience in intercollegiate athletics. Before returning to Idaho, he was athletic director at California State University-Monterey Bay for two years and served as athletic director at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall.
He's also coached basketball at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Roanoke College in Salem, Va., and Whitworth College in Spokane.
Gauthier received his bachelor's degree in business administration from Washington State University, his master's degree in sports management from St. Thomas University in Miami, and his doctorate in education with a sports management emphasis from Southern Illinois University.
Cornerstone Design, a professional interior design consulting firm, has announced that Crystal Arreola, LEED AP, has joined its team as an interior designer. Arreola recently received her LEED accreditation from the U.S. Green Building Council, recognizing her understanding of green building practices and principles and the LEED Green Building Rating System. She will assist on projects including corporate, mixed-use, medical and residential design.
RECOGNITION
Ryan Martin has been named 2008 Realtor of the Year by the Nampa Association of Realtors.
An agent of Re/Max Advantage, Martin has been involved in the association and has served as president and state director. He has served on the board of directors and on several committees, including professional standards. He has been in the business since 1995 when he started as a mortgage broker.
The Children's Home Society of Idaho was named winner of the Alfred P. Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility and honored as one of the top practitioners of workplace flexibility in the nation. The Boise Metro Chamber will host an awards ceremony to honor the society in December.
The Sloan Award is part of the When Work Works project, an initiative of Families and Work Institute, the Institute for a Competitive Workforce, and the Twiga Foundation .
GOOD DEEDS
Key Foundation has contributed $11,000 over the past two years to the Finally Home! Home Buyer Education Program administered by the Idaho Partners for Home Buyer Education Inc. Key Foundation contributed $5,000 in 2007 and $6,000 in 2008. These contributions will assist with educational contract expenses, program administration, textbooks and other class materials.
