JOB CHANGES

LCA Architects, a Boise based architectural and interior design firm specializing in commercial and public design, has announced the addition of Kara Moser and Jared Hoffman to its staff.

Moser, an interior designer, is a graduate of the University of Idaho with a bachelor's degree in interior design and a minor in architecture. She spent last summer in Italy, where she developed an urban development plan for the city of Ovada. Moser has stepped in to assist with LCA projects including the new Meridian City Hall.

Hoffman, an intern architect, received his bachelor's and master's degrees in architecture from the University of Idaho. He also spent time in Italy attending Pennsylvania State University's architecture program in Rome. He is working on projects including Idaho Central Credit Union.

Century 21 1st Place Realty welcomes associate broker Nyree Castillo Groner to its sales team. Groner worked in banking and education before becoming a real estate broker. A native of Costa Rica, she specializes in residential real estate and is fluent in Spanish and English.

Stuart B. Weiser has joined the Boise Philharmonic as development director. Weiser has more than 28 years of performing arts management experience, most recently as general manager of the Eichelberger Performing Arts Center in Hanover, Penn.

Weiser, a musician by training, has managed orchestras in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina and Oregon, and he has worked on the staff of the Aspen Music Festival in Colorado.

RECOGNITION

The Saint Alphonsus Foundation has honored Kirsten and Michael Coughlin, M.D., and U.S. Bank as this year's Distinguished Individual and Corporate Citizens. The foundation annually recognizes individuals and corporations for their support of Saint Alphonsus and the community.

The Coughlins were instrumental in establishing the Saint Alphonsus Children's Classic Race, contributing hundreds of thousands of dollars for programs at Saint Alphonsus. In 1992, they chaired the Saint Alphonsus Festival of Trees.

Over her 9-year history with the Saint Alphonsus Foundation, Kirsten Coughlin has chaired the recognition committee and was chairwoman of the board in 2005 and 2006. She has served on the BSU Friends of Nursing Board; Oregon Health Sciences University Nursing Alumni Association; and the Saint Alphonsus Women's Healthcare Fund Board.

Michael Coughlin practices in Boise, where he has been chief of orthopedics at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center and president of the Idaho Orthopaedic Society.

In 2008, the U.S. Bancorp Foundation - through its related operating company, U.S. Bank - contributed just over $492,000 to 80 different organizations in Idaho.

U.S. Bank also encourages volunteerism among its employees and has established the Five Star Volunteer Award program, which honors outstanding employee volunteers nationwide.

CONTRACTS

The Meridian Development Corp. has awarded a contract to Treasure Valley-based Red Sky Public Relations Inc.

The MDC is an independent agency dedicated to the economic stimulation and development of downtown Meridian. A seven-member board of commissioners governs the agency.

The contract with Red Sky will include developing a communications plan, as well as providing counsel and support for media relations, marketing materials and Internet-based communications. Red Sky principal Jessica Flynn is the project lead.
