
JOB CHANGES
Mike Mooney, Idaho region president of Bank of the Cascades, has announced that Terry Fesler has been promoted to assistant vice president/branch manager at the newly opened Eagle branch, 1101 E. Winding Creek Road.
Fesler has more than 12 years of experience in the financial services industry and has worked in all facets of banking.
Before joining the Eagle team, he served as a commercial loan officer at the bank's Garden City branch. Fesler, who attended the College of Idaho and Boise State University, is attending Pacific Coast Banking School. He is a West Valley Little League board member and serves as an ambassador for the Eagle Chamber of Commerce and the Landing Community Center.

Mercer has announced that Melanie Kilborn has joined their health and benefits team as a sales/client executive in the small group market. Mercer is a benefits consulting and brokerage organization with an office in Boise.
Previously, Kilborn was employed by Strategic Employee Benefit Services as an employee benefit specialist. She specializes in the small business market and has expertise in medical, dental, vision, life and disability.

The Idaho Foodbank has announced that Jim Zieglmeier has joined the anti-hunger organization as children's services coordinator. Zieglmeier was formerly the USDA commodities manager for another Boise-based nonprofit. He oversaw food distribution in Ada, Owyhee and Elmore counties for more than a decade. Zieglmeier has also studied and taught martial arts most of his life and has been involved in a variety of children's programs.
RECOGNITION
The Meridian Chamber of Commerce has selected its Small Business Awards winners for 2008. The awards recognize businesses that have made significant contributions to Meridian's economy and community.
This year's award winners are: Small Business Person of the Year, Dr. Tom Hammond, Vision Quest Medical Center; Small Business of the Year, 1-10 employees, the Fred Kesler Agency-Farmers Insurance; Small Business, 11-50 employees, Washington Trust Bank-Meridian and Overland-Boise branches; and Small Business of the Year, 51 or more employees, Meridian Wal-Mart - James Miller and Trudy Dewey.
Those receiving special recognition are: Bruce Altig, BizPrint; Toni Smith, D.L. Evans Bank; Tierney Consulting Inc.; and JB's Family Restaurant. In addition, the Meridian Chamber of Commerce has named its 2008 "Friend of Meridian Business" honoree, Lila Hill. The "Friend of Meridian Business" award goes to individuals or non-business organizations that provide exemplary service and support of Meridian businesses.
GOOD DEEDS
Idaho Stinker gas stations pledged to donate two cents for every gallon of gas pumped for three days in March to the American Red Cross of Greater Idaho. $11,165.74 was raised through the effort.
The donation will provide clothes, shelter and food for the victims of five fires. The American Red Cross of Greater Idaho covers the entire state. Last year, the agency provided services for 247 emergencies, mostly house fires, that affected 808 people. Stinker stations also collected donations from customers during the month to mark National Red Cross Month.
