Before last week's WAC Tournament, Boise State women's soccer coach Steve Lucas encouraged his team to find a way to extend its season.

"Let's go on a little ride and enjoy every minute of it," Lucas said.

The WAC champion Broncos, who earned their first trip to the NCAA Tournament with a 1-0 victory against Nevada on Sunday, learned Monday that their ride is taking them to Los Angeles.

Boise State (13-6-4) drew top-seeded UCLA (17-2-1) in Friday's first round of the 64-team NCAA Tournament. The game starts at 6:30 p.m. MST.

The Bruins have made six consecutive trips to the College Cup - the final four of women's soccer -but have yet to claim an NCAA title.

Boise State is one of nine schools in the field making its first appearance in the tournament.

"We'll go down there and soak up every second of it," Lucas said.

The winner will play the University of San Diego (12-6-2) or San Diego State (14-3-5) on Sunday.

® Three local products with other colleges will play in the NCAA Tournament: Eagle graduate Halley Kreminski with No. 2-ranked Portland, Eagle graduate Abbie Curran with Ole Miss and Borah graduate Melissa Peck with Oregon State.
