Boise State carded a season-low score of 67-over-par 907 to finish 21st at the Challenge at Onion Creek in Austin, Texas, on Tuesday. Timberline High graduate and Washington State freshman Ali Thompson tied for 15th at 4-over 214 and Bishop Kelly graduate and Nebraska sophomore Maddie Sheils tied for 32nd at 8-over 218. Boise State's top finisher was Katie Somers in 63rd at 12-over 222.
Boise State men's tennis: Vicente Joli was named WAC player of the month. The senior from Castellon, Spain, compiled a 6-1 singles record in October, with his only loss coming at the D'Novo ITA All-American Championships.
Idaho State women's soccer: Freshman midfielder Ashley Jones was named Big Sky newcomer of the year after recording five goals and five assists during the regular season. Jones also was named to the all-conference second team and Annamarie Hofsetter, Karissa Henage-Fisher were first-team selections.
