Boise State announced tentative dates for its future nonconference football games Friday, capping a week of intrigue about the Broncos’ schedules.

Athletic director Gene Bleymaier told the Statesman earlier this week that he would be more aggressive in pursuing big-money nonconference road games — a stark departure from his scheduling philosophy in the past — because of budget trouble.

“Right now,” he said, “I’d go where I can make the most money. If I can play at home and make that much money, then I’m going to play at home. But it’s difficult to make that much money in our stadium size. ... I’ve tried to avoid those (guarantee games). Now they’re much more of a reality going forward.”

Bleymaier told Statesman sports editor Mike Prater on KTIK’s “Idaho Sports Talk” that he is seeking between $800,000 and $900,000 for the game. San Jose State just this week agreed to play at Alabama in 2010 for a reported $1 million payday.

The Broncos have an opening in their 2010 schedule. To clear up confusion about their future schedules — the football team’s Web site has been wrong and incomplete all week — the department released the team’s nonconference schedule for 2010 through 2013 seasons.

The tally for those four seasons plus 2009:

• Seven games with the Mountain West Conference (Wyoming, Utah, BYU)

• Five games with the Mid-American Conference (Toledo, Miami (Ohio), Bowling Green)
