More premium seats to go on market

Boise State likely will put more premium seats in Bronco Stadium's Stueckle Sky Club on the market the second week of August.

One previously leased luxury suite recently became available, four loge boxes were added during construction to fill vacant space and 96 club seats with barstools and a counter were added along the back row of the club level.

Boise State will go through its waiting lists and ask current seat holders if they'd like to upgrade before putting any seats up for grabs.

The additional club seats will be leased for $2,500 per season - $300 more than the regular club seats because of the available counter space.

Whatever seats are available in August, it will mark the first time that Boise State is able to sell the seats by showing the buyers a finished product.

"I'm kind of excited about that," said Curt Apsey, senior associate athletic director for advancement.

The additional seats make it possible that the entire facility will not be sold out for the Aug. 30 season opener against Idaho State. However, other than the newly empty suite, these seats represent a chance to tack $288,000 onto the $3.285 million in projected revenue for 2008.

The $37.55 million project is scheduled for substantial completion by Aug. 1. Apsey expects the Layton Construction crew to hit that deadline. Layton will remain on site until about Oct. 1, tying up loose ends and troubleshooting.

"It's amazing how much can be done in a month when it has to be done by Aug. 1," Apsey said. " Nothing has come down the road that makes me believe we can't do that."
