The Western Athletic Conference released its 2008 football schedule Thursday, one that features 10 nationally televised games.
The schedule includes some changes for Boise State and Idaho.
For the first time since 2001, the Broncos will end the season at home - in a potential conference title game against Fresno State on ESPN2.
For the first time since 1997, Idaho will not play rival Washington State. As a result, the Vandals have just one game against a BCS-conference team (Aug. 30 at Arizona) for the first time since 1997.
CONFERENCE SHOWDOWN
Boise State - Nov. 28 vs. Fresno State: Like last year's season finale against Hawaii, this could be a conference title game.
Idaho - Sept. 20 at Utah State: The Vandals' first conference game might be their best chance to end a 13-game WAC losing streak.
UPSET ALERT
Boise State - Oct. 11 at Southern Miss: The Golden Eagles, a proud mid-major program, get a chance to pay back the Broncos in Hattiesburg, Miss.
Idaho - Aug. 30 at Arizona: The Wildcats were 5-7 last season with losses to Stanford and New Mexico. Sure, it'd be the Vandals' first win against a BCS school since beating Washington State in 2000, but that's why it is called an upset.
TOUGHEST GAME
Boise State - Sept. 20 at Oregon: The Broncos have never defeated a BCS-conference team on the road.
Idaho - Nov. 15 vs. Boise State: The Vandals haven't beaten their in-state rivals since 1998.
TOUGHEST STRETCH
Boise State - Saturday-Friday: The Broncos have two short weeks, one before the Hawaii game and one before the Fresno State game.
Idaho - 10 games without a bye: The Vandals play 10 consecutive Saturdays without a week off before getting one prior to the Boise State game.
