Garden City homeowner embraces graffiti art

Graffiti artist Johnny Rodriguez, Boise, works on the abstract lettering on his section of homeowner Cindy Sawyers' backyard fence Sunday May 19, 2013 in Garden City. Sawyers hired five local graffiti artists to paint a "wild style" mural on about 80-feet of fence. "I wanted it be like a train rushing by," Sawyers said as she and friends watched the graffiti artists work. Rodriguez, who has been expressing himself with spray-paint art for 10 years, said this is totally different from tag graffiti people look down on. "I like it when people give us a chance," he said. "This is something we love to do."
