ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

8 p.m. Friday, May 29, and 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday, May 30, Special Events Center, Boise State University. $35 and $45. Seating at the evening performances is limited. Select-a-Seat. The Friday night performance is sold out. Tickets are still available for Saturday afternoon and a limited number for Saturday night.

Choreographer Trey McIntyre established his dance company in Boise in 2008. Now, with the "9+1" art show underway at J Crist Gallery, and the reception it has received so far, it looks like they're settling into Idaho just fine.

The company will polish off its premiere Boise season this weekend with the program it will perform for its New York debut in June.

The program is a mix of works created in 2008-'09 that were chosen because they show the dancers off at what they do best, McIntyre said.

The program opens with "Leatherwing Bat," a sentimental look at childhood filled with whimsy and irony set to music from the "Peter, Paul and Mommy" album.

Next up is "(serious)," McIntyre's exploration of music by Henry Cowell and the creative process.

The New Orleans flavored "Ma Maison" closes the program with a slinky mix of ballet and popular dance styles performed to music by the Preservation Hall Jazz Band.

What sells the piece is the wild costuming and funky skeleton masks.
