The Stanley Lake Campground is in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area in Central Idaho. Nestled at the foot of Mount McGowan, the area is known for its scenic beauty, wildlife and outdoor recreation.

How to get there: The park is four and a half miles west of Stanley on Idaho 21. Turn on Stanley Lake Road and drive three miles on Forest Service road 455. Boat launch and hiking trails are a mile farther.

Activities: Boating, hiking, swimming, cycling fishing.

Amenities: Boat launch ramp, firewood, vault toilet.

All single sites have a maximum number of eight people and two vehicles. Multiple sites have a maximum of 16 people and four vehicles.

Nearest place to get supplies: Stanley, a few miles up the road.

Fees/reservations: Family, standard single, $13. Family, standard double, $26. www.recreation.gov or (877) 444-6777. Reservations must be made at least four days in advance.
