Idaho Statesman columnist Michael Deeds was born in North Platte, Neb. The nation's No. 1 song that day was Simon & Garfunkel’s “Mrs. Robinson.” This wouldn’t be entirely bad, except that everyone else’s birth date song is better. His wife’s? The Knack’s “My Sharona.” His son's? Leona Lewis’ “Bleeding Love.” (Come to think of it, Lil’ Deeds got hosed, too.)
