Charlotte Davis, 59, of Garden Valley died Thursday after she fell off her horse and hit her head, Boise County Chief Deputy Coroner Mike Johnson said.

The accident happened about 10 a.m. on Easley Creek Road two miles west of the Middle Fork Road, Johnson said. Davis was riding with another person when her horse spooked and ran down the road, out of the view of the other rider. The horse then came back without Davis, who was found by the side of the road, he said.

Emergency workers responded, but Davis died at the scene. The cause of death was a head injury, Johnson said.
