FIRE SEASON IS HERE, SO CHECK THE WEB BEFORE YOUR TRIP

You can get nearly real-time fire information around the state at here. It's a good place to check before you head out for the weekend because there's always a possibility of area, road and trail closures because of fires. You can also get current information on smoke conditions here.

LAKE LOWELL BOAT RAMPS CLOSED

Boat launches at the Lower Dam Recreation Area and at the west end of the Upper Dam are closed due to low water. Two undeveloped ramps at Parking Lots 1 and 7 on the south side of the lake are also closed.

Low water make it unsafe to launch boats and can cause damage hulls, motors, trailers and tow vehicles. It can also make it difficult or impossible to float a boat off most trailers.

Boaters can still launch their vessels at the ramp at the east end of the Upper Dam, just off Iowa Avenue. To see a map of the lake go to fws.gov/Deerflat/map.html.

BRUNDAGE ADDS FREE DISC GOLF COURSE

The ski resort near McCall opened its first nine holes, "The Easy Street 9" is located in the base area, mostly surrounding the Easy Street beginner chairlift. The course is 3,015 feet long and par 30.

You can bring your own discs, or they are available for rent at the Brundage Bike Shop, which is open Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can print out a scorecard and map at brundage.com.
