Part of Upper Salmon River chinook fishing closes July 19

Upper Salmon River season coming to a close.

Chinook fishing in the Upper Salmon River from the Idaho 75 Salmon River Bridge (about 250 yards upstream from the East Fork Salmon River) upstream to the posted boundary about 100 yards downstream of the weir at Sawtooth Hatchery will close at the end of fishing on July 19.

Idaho Fish and game fishery managers believe that by July 19, the sport anglers in the Upper Salmon will have harvested the non-tribal fishery share of Sawtooth Hatchery chinook returning to the upper river.

The Upper Salmon River from the Idaho 75 Bridge just upstream of the East Fork Salmon River downstream to the posted boundary about 100 yards upstream of the North Fork Salmon River will remain open until July 27.
