Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in the shooting death of a 25-year-old Nampa man early Sunday morning. Pedro Martin Jr. was the victim of the shooting.
Police responded to a report of gunfire at 2:43 a.m. at the Walgreens at 12th Ave. and 7th St. S. in Nampa.
They found Martin on the ground outside the business, which was open at the time of the shooting. There were no eye witnesses, Nampa police spokesman Joe Ramirez said, but people in the area heard gunshots so it was believed to have occurred just outside or near the store.
Police are hoping to obtain surveillance video from the store, Ramirez said. They do not know what Martin was doing before the shooting; it is unknown if he was in the store.
Martin, who was shot one time in the torso, was rushed to the hospital for treatment of the gunshot wound. Martin later died.
Police do not yet have any information on a suspect.
Nampa Police investigators are attempting to identify a suspect in this case. Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt. Peck with the Nampa Police Department 475-5714, or if they would like to remain anonymous, they can call Crime Stoppers at 343-2677 (COPS).
