Boise Hawks struggle on road against Eugene Emeralds

Statesman staffJuly 13, 2014

EUGENE — Marcus Davis went 4-for-4 with his fifth home run this season against Boise, leading the Emeralds to a 5-2 win over the Hawks. Danny Canela gave the Hawks the lead in the opening frame with a two-out RBI double, but six straight Eugene batters recorded hits in the third — including run-scoring singles by Auston Bousfield, Nick Torres and Yale Rosen — to give the hosts the lead.

HAWKS TRANSACTIONS: Boise called up pitchers Tommy Thorpe and James Norwood from the Arizona Rookie League, and sent pitchers Greyfer Eregua and Alberto Diaz to the Mesa Cubs.
