Yellow alert issued for air quailty

July 12, 2014

The yellow alert issued for Saturday will continue into Sunday as air quality is expected to remain in the moderate range, the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality said.

Outdoor burning is prohibited in Boise and other incorporated and unincorporated areas of Ada and Canyon counties. The prohibition also extends to woodstoves.

Sunday's air quality is predicted to be 78, up 13 points from a week before. When the number falls within the moderate category of between 51 and 100, air quality is acceptable. However, people who are unusually sensitive to air pollution may face a moderate health concern for some pollutants.
