Idaho colleges roundup: Boise State women's hoops player gives Spain a boost

UDINE, Italy - Sophomore Yaiza Rodriguez Ortego helped Spain earn a 70-58 victory over the Czech Republic in its Group E opener Monday in the second round of the FIBA European Championship.

Rodriguez Ortego played a tournament-high 28 minutes against the Czechs, recording seven points, one rebound and three assists.

BOISE STATE VOLLEYBALL: Setter Sarah Baugh was chosen to represent the Mountain West on its all-star team, which is competing in the European Global Challenge July 8-19.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE BASEBALL: Joining the Crusaders for the 2015 season are right-handed pitchers Blake Mitchell (Cypress Community College) and Justin Pilgrim (Lethbridge College), and shortstop Tucker Campbell (Lane Community College).
