A 24-year-old Nampa man was hospitalized Monday morning after a motorcycle crash on Victory Road in Ada County, according to the sheriff's office. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The crash occurred at about 10 a.m. Monday.

Sheriff's investigators say the man was driving the motorcycle west on Victory Road when a car ahead of him slowed down to turn left into a driveway. In an apparent attempt to avoid hitting the car, the motorcyclist locked the back wheel of the bike, a sheriff's spokesman said.

The motorcyclist lost control, and the bike slid out. Neither the motorcycle or rider struck the vehicle. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet.

No citations have been issued. The crash is under investigation.
