Boise State women's hoops player helps Spain advance

UDINE, Italy — Yaiza Rodriguez Ortego and her Spanish national team rallied from 15 points down to defeat Latvia 72-66 on Saturday. Spain finished the group stage of the U20 FIBA European Women's Basketball Championship undefeated at 3-0. Rodriguez Ortego hit a clutch 3-pointer with 36 seconds left to give Spain a six-point lead. She finished with five points, five rebounds and two steals. Rodriguez Ortego scored two points in the first game against France, and had six points and three steals in the second game against Greece. Spain will next play the Czech Republic on Monday.
