Man killed in Saturday morning crash south of Caldwell

July 5, 2014

The 25-year-old driver was headed on Lone Star Road, west of Lake Avenue, when he lost control of a truck just before 2 a.m. and went off the road.

The truck struck an irrigation ditch and overturned, the Canyon County Sheriff's Office said. The driver, who was alone, was partially ejected and was trapped under the vehicle. The man, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The wreck is under investigation, but deputies believe that alcohol was a factor.
