Ten of 127 businesses fail BPD alcohol compliance tests

July 3, 2014

Boise police will be out in force checking for intoxicated drivers this holiday weekend, and during the past week they have conducted “compliance checks” at local businesses to see if they would sell alcohol to minors.

On Saturday and Thursday nights, officers working with two minors checked 127 businesses, of which 10 sold alcohol to one or both minors. Of those 10, most did not even ask to see the minor’s ID. Here are the businesses found to be in violation on June 28 or July 2: • Albertsons at Five Mile and Ustick • Albertsons at Vista and Overland • Liquor Store at Five Mile and Fairview • Emerald Lanes at Emerald and Orchard • Maverik at 27th and Main • Café Capri, 6800 block Federal Way • Characters Sports Bar (Red Lion Downtown), 1800 Fairview Avenue. • The Tilted Kilt Bar, 1500 block of South Broadway Avenue. • Cobby’s Deli, 1000 block of South Broadway Avenue. • Nato’s Restaurant, 1400 block South Entertainment Avenue.
