Small wildfire near Horseshoe Bend under control

A small wildfire south of Horseshoe near Highway 55 is under control.

The fire was reported at 2 p.m. Volunteer members Horseshoe Bend Fire Department responded and contained the 2-acre blaze by 3 p.m.

Bureau of Land Management spokesman Brandon Hampton said the cause of the fire wasn't yet determined, though Hampton said it was likely human caused since there were no fire-causing weather events in the area.
