Hodges' home run barrage seals Boise Hawks' victory over Dust Devils


PASCO, Wash. - Tri-City finished with nine runs in the final two innings Monday. Boise (8-11) did the Dust Devils (8-11) one better the next night, tallying seven runs in the eighth and three in the ninth to seal a 14-3 victory.

Third baseman Jesse Hodges went 3-for-5 with three-run homers in the eighth and ninth, scoring three times and doubling his season RBI total to 12. Leadoff hitter Jeffrey Baez went deep three batters after Hodges in the eighth, a two-run shot. First baseman Daniel Canela went 4-for-4 with three runs. Boise fell victim to a triple play, but had 19 hits.

Tyler Ihrig (2-0) scattered six hits in six innings, striking out five, walking none and allowing two runs.
