Letter: Iraq

July 2, 2014

Iraqi uprising - where is the U.N.? There are 193 national states that belong to the United Nations, probably totalling about six billion people dedicated to keeping peace on earth. This huge organization is letting a few Taliban extremists overrun war-torn Iraq.

The U.N. could appoint retired military leaders and ask for like 100,000 - 200,000 volunteers of men, equipment and supplies from all members based on a percentage of population.

The U.S. portion would amount to about 5 percent. This U.N. army could wipe out the Taliban in Iraq and elsewhere.
