October trial date set for suspect in Boise double murder

Samari Winn, the California man charged with aiding a May 9 double murder in Boise, pleaded not guilty Thursday and is scheduled to stand trial Oct. 27 with 4th District Judge Lynn Norton presiding.

Winn, 34, is charged with two counts of aiding and abetting first-degree murder and one charge of aiding and abetting attempted murder.

Prosecutors say Winn led the murderer to his victims at a home off North Orchard Street near Hillcrest Elementary School late Thursday night, May 8. Elliott Bailey, 28, and Travontae Calloway, 27, died of gunshot wounds. Calloway’s girlfriend was shot in the arm and survived.

Boise police are still searching for the shooter. A suspect has not been publicly identified.
