The city of Eagle filed an eminent domain claim in April to force Laguna Pointe property owners to sell easements for a public path that connects to the Boise River Greenbelt.
On Wednesday, the city announced that it had reached agreements with all of the property owners along the path, including the Laguna Pointe HOA, Jade Properties, LLC, and Premier Industrial, LLC.
Phil Hardy of Strategies 360, who had been a spokesman for Laguna Pointe's HOA, declined comment Wednesday. He referred inquiries to HOA attorney Chad Lamer. Lamer did not immediately return a call for comment.
Eagle City Attorney Susan Buxton was out of the office and unavailable for comment.
"Upon execution of the agreements, the public will have immediate access to the existing path while the HOA constructs the final path and brings the area into compliance with all Army Corps of Engineers requirements," the city press release said.
The 1-mile path on the south side of the South Boise River, which can be accessed from Eagle Road, is considered an important piece in the Boise River Greenbelt system. Walkers, bicyclists and others want to be able to travel from Eagle to Boise on the path.
