Brundage Mountain Resort in McCall will offer free rides from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 27 for its grand opening celebration of the summer season, but it's seeking donations for the local food bank.

Free lift tickets will be available at the base area's bike shop for the Blue Bird High Speed Quad, which will get mountain bikers, hikers and other visitors to Brundage Mountain’s 7,640-foot summit and more than 20 miles of singletrack trails.

Brundage is asking visitors to donate one can of food or $1 per ride. Proceeds benefit the Heartland Hunger Resource Center.

Brundage and Giant Mountain Bikes have also teamed up to raise money for the HHRC with a giant raffle featuring everything from bike jerseys to locks, gloves and saddles. Each person who donates a can of food or $1 will receive a raffle ticket. The raffle will take place at 2 p.m.on the new deck outside Smoky’s Bar & Grill. Participants must be present to win.

Bike rentals will be available for purchase on-site on a first-come first-served basis. The celebration also features a Recreation Showcase, with local outfitters and retailers showing off the great variety of activities and equipment available in the McCall area.

Regular summer lift hours will be Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 pm. with a bonus day on Labor Day, Sept. 1.

Brundage Mountain’s slope-side restaurant, Smoky’s Bar & Grill will be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Labor Day. Brundage is also offering weekend daycare services.
