Katie Cullen of Star caught this chinook salmon at the confluence of the Salmon and Little Salmon rivers recently. The fish was caught on a tuna sack.

Season is winding down for popular fishery

When the fishing gets good, the clock starts winding down, and that's the case on the Little Salmon River this week.

The season will close at the end of fishing hours on Friday, June 27, according to Idaho Fish and Game.

So if you have your heart set on salmon for the grill, get your gear and go.
